Painting Cookies: A Yummy Painting Experience!

This art project from Roopa of Putti's World combines two things children love - painting and cookies! While there isn't anything significantly different skill-wise in painting cookies versus painting paper, we love the idea of providing your kiddos with unique art mediums to explore. Not to mention, they'll love that this is one art project they're allowed to consume when they're finished!
What you'll need...
- Your favorite sugar cookie recipe (including a recipe for smooth icing)
- Liquid food coloring
- Water
- Clean paint brushes
As an added bonus, before art time begins, invite your kiddos into the kitchen for some measuring, mixing, and baking fun! We love that this activity also provides a great opportunity for learning early math skills as well as cooking/life and safety skills.
