While searching for some new fall printables, we stumbled across this great tot/preschool pack created by Allyson at A Heart For Home! It includes twelve different leaf activities that will get your kiddos excited about fall {and learning, of course!}. Here's a sneak peek at two of our favorite activities from the pack...

Color Cards

These cards are great for helping your students strengthen color and color word recognition. There are two different worksheets - one set of cards features black and white color words, while the second set features color cues {see image below}.

Have your kiddos use their favorite graphic art tools to color the leaves, then...

  • Create two-part matching cards by cutting the cards apart and separating the color word strips from the leaf pictures.
  • Form a color word mini book by mounting the cards onto construction paper booklets or placing the cards into plastic name badge holders and holding them together with a binder ring.

[NOTE: To save on paper, consider creating a class worksheet to put in your math or literacy center, laminating the entire worksheet and providing your students with dry erase crayons to color the leaves.]

Fall Sequencing

Allyson offers a great way to help your kiddos practice sequencing. There are three unique 3-card fall themed activities.

  • Raking Leaves. Students practice ordering events - first, second, and last.
  • Leaf Sequencing. Your kiddos will practice placing leaf cards in order by size - small, medium, and large {and vice versa}.
  • Growth Sequencing. Students will place plant cards in order of maturity.
