Happy Flag Day!

Perfect for any patriotic holiday, but Flag Day especially, this fabulous emergent reader created by Greg Smedley of Smedley's Smorgasbord of Kindergarten is sure to be a great fit for your beginning readers! Tailored to build recognition of sight words, 'is' and 'the', the booklet also features repetitive, easy to decipher text as well as positional words that you can introduce and discuss with your kiddos. Read together as a shared reading experience, we know your preschoolers will enjoy following your cues as they practice reading the booklet to themselves and other classmates. And, paired with a star pointer (a simple foam star sticker attached to a craft stick) to help students follow each word, we know you'll be able to incite extra excitement for the reading exercise!
