Start the school year off right, on a positive note, inviting your kiddos to write out their goals\/wishes for the coming year - i.e. to become a better speller, to read 1 book a month, to make new friends, etc. After they've written their wishes and have had a chance to decorate their wish scrolls, collect and store the finished products.
