On light brown bulletin board paper construction paper, draw a fan shape, modifying the lower corner to create a circle instead of a point. Mrs. Naylor cut a diamond out of the center of the fan to create a \"grassy\" infield when placed on top of the green background, but this is optional. If you should choose to cut the center out, also create a second, smaller circle to be placed in the middle of the cutout as the pitcher's mound.  From white card stock or white construction paper, make home plate, the three bases, long thin strips to act as the baseline, and a small thin rectangle as an accent for the pitcher's mound. When the pieces are properly placed, glue them together and place the entire baseball field in the middle of your bulletin board. 2) The Baseball Gloves. You will need as many gloves as you have duties for your students to complete. Either purchase prefabricated glove cutouts, draw and trace your own, or use computer clip art to print and cut glove shapes onto brown construction paper. Label each glove with a different classroom job and arrange them around the baseball field on the bulletin board. 3) The Baseballs. Purchase prefabricated baseball cutouts or create your own using white card stock and a red marker (laces). Create a jersey template from card stock. Determine how many of each color you'll need to complete the board remembering that blue jerseys will be placed on the red sheets of construction paper, red jerseys on white, and white jerseys on blue. Trace and cut out a jersey for each student in your class. 2) The Jersey Details. Create a star template from card stock. Determine how many of each color you'll need based on the fact that each jersey should have two stars and the colors should be as follows: red on blue, white on red, and blue on white. Also, using word processing software with a \"WordArt\" feature, create jersey numbers and names. Print these onto colored card stock, cut them out and glue them to their proper jerseys. You'll need to plan ahead of time what color jersey each student will have so that you can follow the following color pattern when printing their names\/numbers: white lettering on blue jerseys, blue lettering on red jerseys, and red lettering on white jerseys.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003c\/ul\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe directions may seem a bit complicated, but if you ever lose track of the correct color patterns, refer to the picture of Mr. Cayer's board. Visit NFL.com to download copies of the logos for each conference as well as each team in the playoffs, printing them onto card stock. Attach each conference logo to a card stock football and attach to the board. Cut and laminate the individual team logos, separate them into conferences, and create a labeled envelope to store each set. Attach the envelopes at the bottom of the board. 2) The Viewing Windows. See Kerchner's full post under \"Special Construction\". Attach a viewing window to each side of the board and place a football cutout above each one. 3) Playbooks. Use word processing software - adding a heading (i.e. \"Philadelphia Eagles Offensive Playbook\"), the team's logo, and six equations or \"plays\". Be sure to keep the margins, font sizes, and other document settings the same so that each playbook will fit the viewer window. Print, separate by teams by conference, and place in labeled envelopes. Attach the envelopes at the bottom of the board. 4) The Details. Add some festive star cutouts around the title, etc. to complete the board! When they're 'caught' doing something nice for another student, helping out during class, having a positive attitude, putting forth effort on classroom assignments, etc., Mr. Knepp awards them with a sticker. When students collect a certain number of stickers, they're inducted into the \"Gold Glove Club\" for the grading period. Third grade teacher, Jennifer Carey, definitely understands this balance. Be sure to write the number of yards on each envelop so students know how many yards they are going for (5, 10 and 15). After you've created teams, make sure each student gets a worksheet to complete and hand in at the end (this way every student participates and practices). The team who wins the coin toss (say Team A) picks first and gets to choose how many yards they want to go for (the higher the number of yards, the tougher the question). If they get it correct, Team B gets to move their football the corresponding number of yards. If they get the question wrong, the ball is considered a dead ball. Set a time for the game (it can be however long you'd like) and whichever team has scored the most touchdowns in the end wins the game!
