Consider providing several shades of green construction paper for visual interest (you might also consider fun scrapbook or crafting paper with muted patterns). For a special twist, provide garland and ornament making craft supplies as well. At the story's conclusion, test your students' listening skills by completing a sequencing activity where students are provided with mitten and animal cutouts then asked to place the creatures inside the mitten in the correct order. Invite students to dress up in their winter gear - hats, coats, scarves, gloves, etc. - and pose against a white background as if they're playing in the snow.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eProvided with a piece of light blue construction paper and clear plastic plate, invite students to trace their plate on the paper and cut out the resulting circle.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eGiven a copy of their printed picture, have students cut themselves from the scene and glue their picture onto the construction paper circle. [NOTE: Instruct them to glue the picture off to the side because they still need to fit a snowman in the scene!]\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eArmed with shallow trays of white paint and a q-tip, have students add a snowman shape and dot 'snowflakes' to the scene.
