Dr. Seuss is on the Loose!

March Dr. Seuss Bulletin Board Idea for Kindergarten

This simple, but festive board is sure to get your kiddos excited about Dr. Seuss' birthday and Read Across America! We love the mural-esque style and think it's a great way to highlight all your favorite Seuss characters.

Dr. Seuss in on the Loose!

  • Background: Yellow bulletin board paper.
  • Title: "Dr. Seuss is on the Loose in _____________ [1st Grade, Mrs. Nelson's Class, Room 203, etc.]!" or "We've Been Seuss-ed!" - Make your own letters using word processing software and the {free} Doctor Soos Bold font from FontSpace or use Dr. Seuss inspired bulletin board letters.
  • Border: Dr. Seuss themed trimmer.
  • Decoration: Make a list of your favorite Seuss characters, searching out clip art images online. Using your classroom projector system, enlarge and trace the images onto a piece of white bulletin board paper. Since it's a 'mural', the images should overlap to create a fuller looking board. Use craft paint to color in the characters and, when dry, outline the figures and add detailing with a black permanent marker. Cut the connected characters out and mount to the bulletin board. [NOTE: We haven't tried it, and didn't want to steer you wrong in the event it doesn't work, but you might just trace the figures directly onto the yellow background paper and go from there... It would be a lot less cutting and the like!]
