True to form, Jolanthe of Homeschool Creations' new ocean themed printables are phenomenal and are sure to be a hit in the classroom!

  • Use her mini book report worksheet to have your kiddos reflect on the various literature selections presented during the unit. {Not to worry, Jolanthe provides a list of books that would go great with this theme on her blog!} Not only does it provide students with name printing practice, it encourages your little ones to think about sequencing and order {as they describe what happened in the story} and form an opinion as they determine which part of the story was their favorite!
  • Use Jolanthe's three-part cards to introduce your preschoolers to new vocabulary/sight words as well as strengthen letter recognition and literacy! You kiddos will love playing concentration and matching games, as well as simply reviewing the cards in a laminated flip book {i.e. punch a hole in the top left corner of each laminated card and hold together with a binder ring}. The vocabulary flip book might even be a great addition to the writing center, allowing students to use these new vocabulary words into their stories and poems!
  • Use Jolanthe's "How many fish in the ocean?" activity mat to strengthen numeral recognition and counting. For a fun alternative to the fish cutouts, use Swedish Fish gummy candies or Goldfish crackers as counting manipulatives {who wouldn't be motivated to count when a yummy snack is involved?!}.

These are only three of the many fantastic exercises offered in Jolanthe's free preschool pack. Be sure to head on over for the download and check them out for yourself!
