We recently stumbled across Paging Supermom and can't get enough of it! The site's dynamic duo, Aimee and Bettijo, offer tons of fabulous party ideas, kids crafts, learning worksheets, and more, making the site perfect for parents and teachers alike! All of their printables are fantastic, but what caught our eye were the St. Patrick's Day and spring handwriting worksheets. Not simply a coloring page, your kiddos will have a ball as they practice tracing letters, learn new seasonal vocabulary, and build fine motor coordination! The activity is sure to be tons of fun, but if you're looking to get some extra mileage out of these printables, here are a few suggestions...

  • Cut the vocabulary word squares apart - laminating the pieces and using a binder ring to create a flip book - then invite your kiddos to use dry erase markers or crayons to get some extra tracing practice. The pages wipe clean after each use!
  • Create three-part matching cards. Using two sets of the completed worksheets, cut the vocabulary word squares apart, leaving one set whole and cutting the second set in half so the picture and tracing strip are separate. Students can then use the full cards as a guide, working to match the right words and pictures together.

  • Cut the vocabulary word squares apart, separating the pictures from the tracing strips, and scripting several letters on the top of the newly created picture cards. Invite students to identify the object and select the appropriate beginning letter sound from the letters presented. [NOTE: This activity might work well in a laminated flip book format too!]
