Happy Valentine's Day!

We were sort-of bummed that we didn't find this activity until the day of the holiday, but if you have plans for a party on a later day or are still fitting V-day themed activities into your centers throughout week, be sure to check out this conversation heart counting activity from Jo Kramer at Making Learning Fun!

Students will build counting, numeral recognition, and fine motor skills as they determine the number of conversation hearts on the card, identify the corresponding numeral, and clip a clothespin to it! We absolutely love how Deb Chitwood of Living Montessori Now presented this activity {see photo above} - it's simple, organized, and attractive - the 'trifecta' of qualities for an effective early learning space! Plus, she suggests having students place actual candies on the card as they count; a great way to incorporate a second hands-on learning component to the activity.

However the set-up, we know your kiddos will have a great time with this activity. Be sure to visit Making Learning Fun for the download!
