Celebrating Dr. Seuss - Fun with Colored Goldfish
- First, students are invited to sort their goldfish crackers by color, then determine and record the number of each color as well as the total number of crackers.
- Next, students use their sorting data to graph and analyze the results {i.e. Do you have more green crackers or more orange crackers?}.
- Then, have your students compile their results, analyzing all of the data collected as a class {i.e. What student(s) had the most red fish crackers?}.
- Last, let your kiddos have fun with a counting game! Divide students into groups, providing them with two dice and a game key {i.e. Roll a 3 = Eat all of your red fish crackers}. Not only will students build counting and color recognition skills, they'll love that they get a special snack!
