Explain that police officers help to ensure that these rules are followed. Build on this idea by reminding students that, as pedestrians, they also have road safety procedures to remember. Discuss crosswalks, looking both ways, listening for cars, etc. Use songs like \"Look Both Ways\" by The Wiggles and \"Walk Across The Street\" by Barney to help your students remember the rules.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eRemind your students that talking to strangers is dangerous. Also, discuss with them that they should never let anyone touch them who makes them feel unsafe. Create a separate book of plans for each building medium, or create a giant book of blueprints with tabbed sections. This is a great way to strengthen visual discrimination and problem solving skills, as well as provide your kiddos with practice following directions! Finally, create a key assigning each section a color - i.e. favorite color, hair color, etc. To complete the activity, we suggest working as a group, inviting your kiddos to use a mixture of graphic art tools and encouraging them to have fun working with designs rather than coloring each section a solid color.
