Each student needs two cups for this craft so plan accordingly. Additionally, create a template of the egg cup by tracing its circle onto a piece of card stock.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eTo begin, instruct your students to paint their egg cups gray and set them in a safe place to dry. Using the pre-made cup templates, have your students trace the oyster's body onto a piece of pink felt and cut it out. When the paint is dry, invite your students to glue the felt into the bottom cup along with a white pom pom (for the pearl!). To finish off the creature, use a piece of masking tape to hold the two cups together (this should be placed on the back of the animal creating a small opening at the front for a 'mouth'), painting over the tape strip with gray paint, and adding wiggle eyes to the top cup. Have them trace and cut eight arms from the purple felt then glue four or five beads to one side of each.\u003c\/p\u003e\nNow it's time to attach the arms to the octopus 'body'. Have your students place a generous ring of craft glue around the inside edge of the cup and affix the arms (making sure the beaded side of each is visible). Additionally, trace the end of your recycled rocket tube onto a piece of card stock and make circle cut outs. You'll need enough of these prefabricated supplies for each of the children completing the craft.\n\nTo Assemble The Confetti Popper Rocket:\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003col\u003e\n\u003cli\u003ePlace a small dab of glue onto the prefabricated card stock circle and adhere it to the center of the pre-cut tissue paper square.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eThread the pre-cut string onto the craft needle (don't worry about lining up the ends, just thread the string far enough to make it through the paper). At the end furthest from the craft needle, tie a pony bead to create a large \"knot\". CAUTION: An adult should assist at this step. In the wrong hands, needles can be dangerous.\n\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003ePush the needle through the center of the circle (now attached to the tissue paper) and pull the string through until the bead is flush with the card stock. Set aside to dry.\n\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eCut a piece of patriotic crafting paper to the dimensions of the tube and glue or tape it to the roll. For a more festive appearance, cut pieces of patriotic ribbon and tape them to the bottom of the paper before adhering it to the roll. This will make it look like the rockets are taking off or just provide extra decorative flair.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eFill the open top of the tube with homemade or store-bought confetti.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eCut a circle from crafting paper, use scissors to create a slit from edge to center, then fold the flap over and glue to create a cone shape. Use scissors to cut the tip so there is a small hole at the top.\n\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003ePunch two holes on the top edge of the rocket (across from each other). Thread a piece of string through the holes and, at the top where the two ends meet, thread a bead for support.
