"Happy Fall!" Bulletin Board Idea

Simple Fall Bulletin Board Idea

Here's another fun fall board created by talented early childhood teacher, Tara Werbowy! Simple and colorful, the three-dimensional tree branches add some great texture to the board and the scene is sure to inspire fun fall memories.

NOTE: This board would also work great to display student work! Simply tweak the title - i.e. "Raking In Fall-tastic Work!"

Happy Fall!

  • Background: Bright blue bulletin board paper.
  • Title: "Happy Fall!"
  • Border: Complimentary colored/patterned trimmer or fall themed bulletin board border.
  • Decoration: One of the things we love about Tara's designs is that the elements are handmade. This, of course, takes extra work, but the results are certainly worth it! 1) The Tree. Cut strips of natural butcher paper. Create individual branches by scrunching and twisting the strips of paper, then arrange the branches on the bulletin board, stapling them together to create the tree shape. 2) The Character. For those with artistic ability, freehand the little boy and rake shapes onto white bulletin board paper and color in with craft paint. For those without the time or patience to draw your own, we suggest finding clip art images online that can be enlarged using your classroom projector system, traced onto white bulletin board paper, and colored it. Whichever method you use, when the paint has dried, be sure to trace the shapes with black permanent marker to make them pop! 3) The Leaves. Leaf templates can easily be found online and printed onto colored construction paper. Of course, if you don't want to cut out a bunch of leaf shapes, personal cutting/die cut machines make the process much faster as do purchased elements from your favorite teacher supply store!
