Memorial Day - Thinking About Our Troops
As Memorial Day approaches, Education World offers some great activities that are sure to help your preschoolers make a personal connection to the holiday. One of our favorite ideas includes helping your kiddos express their thanks to the courageous men and women {and their families!} who serve our country. Gary Hopkins, featured lesson creator at Education World, shares two different sites that provide instructions for sending mail/postcards to our troops. Not only will your students have a chance to express their gratitude to our troops for protecting our country and ensuring that the freedoms we enjoy will be passed from generation to generation, this is a great way to build writing skills as well!
