Hopping Into April! - Bulletin Board Idea

April Bulletin Board Idea

While April is already half over, a title tweak would make this bulletin board design perfect for Easter or, of course, you could always stash it away in the inspiration folder (bulletin board ideas and classroom crafts!) for next year!

Easter Egg Roll Painting

Remember how we used plastic Easter eggs (with a marble inside for weight) to create cover art for our Easter lapbooks? The preschoolers at All About Children childcare center used the same process to decorate Easter eggs for their bulletin board!

Easter Egg Roll Painting Craft for Kids

How does it work?

  • Find an egg template online and print egg shapes onto construction paper. [Pastel colors are always great for Easter!]
  • Create a painting station. Set out four or five aluminum roasting pans and a basket of plastic Easter eggs with a marble inside as well as craft paint in assorted festive colors.
  • On their turn at the painting station, invite students to select a piece of construction paper and place it in the roasting pan. After adding several small dots of craft paint to different parts of the paper, have students add an egg to the pan then manipulate the pan to create egg paint tracks.
  • Back at their seats (and once the paint is dried), have students cut out the Easter egg shapes!

Added to a basket created from construction paper, the finished eggs provide some festive color to the calendar wall!

Cotton Ball Bunnies

Easter Bunny Craft for Kids

The bunnies for this board are pretty easy to make. Simply find and print a bunny coloring page onto white card stock (one for each student), then have your kiddos cut out the shape and add details...

  • Pink construction paper on the ears
  • Cotton balls covering the body
  • A craft pom pom (blue for boys and pink for girls) covering the tail.

Hopping Into April!

  • Background: White bulletin board paper.
  • Title: "Hopping Into April!"
  • Border: Complimentary solid/patterned trimmer or Easter themed bulletin board border.
  • Decoration: 1) The Bunnies. Cut long strips of green bulletin board paper, using scissors to fringe the top (to make it look like 'grass') and add to the bulletin board. Arrange your students' bunny crafts in the grass. 2) The Easter Basket. Freehand a basket shape onto brown bulletin board paper or 'build' a basket from brown construction paper. Arrange your students' egg crafts 'in' and around the basket, adding colorful Easter grass for an extra festive touch {optional}!
