Contraction Cupcakes! Grammar Activity Puzzle
This clever activity was created by Sarah over at First Grader...at Last! Perfect for a literacy center, a morning activity or a take-home practice bag, these cupcakes are sure to provide your kiddos with plenty of contraction practice (just be sure to laminate the pieces to withstand repeated use).
If you have time on your hands you could use a cupcake clipart image to create the pieces yourself. Or, if you're like me and find yourself in need of a sort cut, check out these cute cupcake accents! All you have to do it attach two words to the top of the cupcake, attach the matching contraction to the bottom and cut the pieces in half. Students are then tasked with putting the contraction cupcakes puzzles together
