Fun with Leprechaun Messages
Invite your kiddos to review proper sentence structure and punctuation with this fun St. Patrick's Day lesson from Rebecca Banks, feature lesson plan contributor over at HotChalk®. We love the bit of whimsy and "magic" surrounding this exercise and we know your kinders will appreciate it too!
In the spirit of the holiday, construct a message from your friendly classroom leprechaun for your kiddos to discover during morning meeting. Rebecca suggests staging the area a little bit - adding green glitter and perhaps a few 'footprints' or a scrap of green cloth by an open window - to draw your students' attention. Using the message from the leprechaun (written using focus sight words/vocabulary), have your students review letter recognition, sentence structure, punctuation, etc., then read the note together.
