Summer Sensory Art Project for Kids

Summer offers a fun opportunity for outdoor play and art, and we suggest adding this cool painting activity shared by Beth of 123 Homeschool 4 Me to your list of summer family explorations! The cool thing about tackling this project as a family is that your kiddos can get in on all the action - from creating the paint ice cubes to exploring the frozen paint on various surfaces. They'll practice measuring, mixing, scooping, and pouring as they create the perfect ratio of paint to water and work to fill the silicone ice cube trays. This is great for building early math and fine motor skills! And later, when the paint is frozen, we love the idea of providing your little artists with various surfaces to explore (i.e. an easel with paper, a sheet on the grass, recycled card board, etc.) and a chance to let their creativity flow as they work with the cold paint cubes!

This cool summer art experience is sure to be a hit with your kiddos! For the paint recipe and lots of great photographs of this awesome activity, be sure to visit 123 Homeschool 4 Me!
