How amazing does this zebra look?! We found the cute little guy over at smART Class in a lesson Natalie featured showing her students learning about analogous colors. In a quick review (I had to brush up on my art terms here too...), analogous colors are a group of three colors that are found next to each other on the color wheel. A perfect example would be red, orange and red-orange.

To begin the lesson, students drew a zebra (a perfect animal for this lesson with all of its stripes and opportunites to show analogous color relationships!):

Once the drawing was complete, students used watercolors to paint the zebra and were tasked with showing analogous color relationships as they went. Their projects turned out super cute!

If you're looking for something a little more geared toward a younger audience, Natalie also provides a "Hip Hop" animal idea featuring splash paint for 3rd and 4th graders. Be sure to head over to smART Class to check it out!
