A Game for Groundhog Day - Spring is Around the Corner!
Here's a fun articulation game created by Elizabeth over at Speech Lady Liz! The perfect addition to your Groundhog Day lessons, your students are sure to have a blast taking turns pulling a card from the "burrow" in the hopes of selecting a spring card vs. a winter card.
Here's the gist...
- Download, print, and cut the game cards. Provided in the download is a page of 12 'spring' cards and a page of 12 'winter' cards.
- Create a 'burrow' - covering a coffee can or oatmeal tin with brown construction paper. For fun, add a clip art groundhog, then place the game cards in the container.
- Students are invited to select a card, read it, and sort the cards into two piles - spring vs. winter. When all the cards have been drawn, the student with the most spring cards wins!
