A Camping We Will Go! Bulletin Board Ideas
We're always excited when we open up our inbox and see that we have an email from Lori Z. over at Mud Pie Studio! An active PTA member who is always willing to use her artistic talents to put together a display for the school, she always has such fun things to share and, this back-to-school season, she didn't disappoint! Pulling from the school's camping theme, Lori created ten posters/displays for the school and its teachers...
We Are Happy, Happy, Happy To Welcome You Back!
Duck Dynasty fans are sure to appreciate this display! Featuring Phil Robertson's patented phrase, "Happy, Happy, Happy" this simple, yet fun poster is a cute way to welcome little campers back to school!
RV Having Run Yet?
How fun is this play on words?! Simple, clever, and perfect for a camping theme, we love the pop of red against the brown butcher paper background and think this poster would make a great addition to any classroom or hallway!
Welcome Back, Little Stinkers!
Designed for the first grade hallway, we think the sentiment of this poster is not only cute, but applicable! Skunks, a blazing campfire, and toasted marshmallows - a fun combination that is sure to draw the eye and become a fast favorite of the little campers in the first grade hall!
Time For S'more Learning!
This yummy display features a giant s-more and all of its ooey goodness! (Check out those drips of melting chocolate!) Crafted from background paper and adorned with clothespins, the display will be used to feature student work throughout the year!
Give A HOOT For These WISE 3rd Graders!
Not only do we love the cutesy woodland owl theme, this board could be used in several different ways! Since we don't know exactly what it will be used for, here are a few ideas...
- Use it as a community bulletin board for the floor, labeling each owl with a teacher's name, and using the space below to feature the "student of the week" from each class. Add photos with colorful borders, a sample of each students' outstanding work, a filled-in questionnaire about each student (or answers to specific questions written on fun cutouts), etc.
- Use it as a welcome board, creating a cutesy owl cutout for each new student and arranging them around the board. As a finishing touch, use a marker to print student names onto each cutout.
- Like the display above, use it in the classroom as a way to display outstanding work!
Need Direction?
Like a true camp setting, direction signs are always a fun decorative addition (especially if you have a school-wide theme and can carry it through each hallway)! Even for campers who know their way around the school, the theme is in the details and we think this is a fun way to keep everyone on the right 'trail'!

Along with these posters/displays that Lori created for various teachers and classroom hallways, she also created several displays for the PTA, but we think, with a few tweaks, you could also use the displays in the classroom!
Nuts About Our Students!
Check out the cutesy hand drawn squirrel! Make it into a super fun classroom welcome board by adding a new title - i.e. "Mrs. Nelson Is NUTS About Her New Kinders!", "In Room 203, We're NUTS About Learning!", "We're NUTS About Kindergarten!", etc. - and using a marker to print student names onto the the nut cutouts!
We're OWL In This Together!
Not much needs tweaked with this board, simply shorten the title! We love the cutesy hand drawn owls (perfect for both an owl or camping classroom theme) and the vibrant, eye-catching colors!
Pop In To The Fun Table!
Lori created this board to draw attention to the fun programs, etc. the PTA had planned as part of their back-to-school festivities and we love how she used punches of color against a black background as well as a three dimensional popcorn poster to draw the eye! We see two separate displays that could be created from this...
- "Meet the Bright Students of Room 203!" - Cover the display with black bulletin board paper and arrange paper circles cut from paper in assorted neon colors around the board. Finish the board by penning student names onto the circles. Easy, eye-catching, and a super fun classroom theme (if you don't already have one)!
- "Poppin' In For A Great Year!" - Create the fun three-dimensional popcorn poster, but add two-dimensional popcorn cutouts around the display, using a marker to pen student names onto the popcorn accents.

Notice there are only nine posters/displays here? Come back tomorrow for what we think is the 'crown jewel' of Lori's camping decor collection!
