"Playing in the Leaves!" Sweet Fall Bulletin Board Idea
How cute is this fall display shared by Jennifer over at Herding Kats in Kindergarten!? We have always loved designs that incorporate student work and/or participation, and this adorable board calls for a super fun fall photo shoot!
Playing in the Leaves!
- Background: Cover the top two-thirds of the display with white or blue bulletin board paper to create the 'sky'. Use green bulletin board paper to cover the bottom two-thirds, shaping the piece (or pieces) with scissors to create 'grassy hills'.
- Title: None needed.
- Border: Complimentary colored/patterned trimmer or fall themed border.
- Decoration: 1) The Trees. Use brown construction paper or bulletin board paper to cut tree shapes. We love how the original board includes two large trees on either side of the display, their leaves acting as a canopy at the top. The trees add a lovely 'frame' to the board! Additionally, we like how they created depth by using several different sized trees in the background. If you don't feel comfortable drawing the trees freehand, we suggest finding a clip art image online that can be enlarged and traced onto paper! 2) The Leaves. The large leaves at the top of the original display doubled as a writing craftivity. Students selected a pre-cut leaf cutout (or cut their own using a template) then wrote a sentence or two about fall onto writing paper, cut and glued their prompts onto the leaf cutout. The small 'leaves' that the kiddos are pretending to throw are simply paper confetti pieces. 3) The Photos. The final piece of the bulletin board decor necessitates a photo shoot with your kiddos! Have students stand in front of a white background and pretend to throw leaves into the air. Once the photos are printed, create cutouts of each of your students and arrange them around the bulletin board!
