We're A Colorful Bunch - Easter Classroom Door Decoration

Spring Easter Door Bulletin Board Idea

When it comes to your holiday decor, don't forget about your door! This colorful design came from a talented teacher at McKinley Early Childhood Center. The Easter eggs make it a perfect fit for the coming holiday and its simplicity makes it easy/non time consuming to create!

Easter Egg Crafts

To recreate the original board, provide your students with paper egg cutouts and markers, inviting them to make interesting designs and patterns. You might also consider including one of the following projects:

Colorful Bunch Door Display

  • Background: Yellow background paper.
  • Title: "We're A Colorful Bunch!"
  • Border: None needed. Although you might consider a simple solid color trimmer to bring the board together.
  • Decoration: 1) The Basket. Tape several pieces of brown construction paper together or cut a large piece of brown bulletin board paper, using your classroom projector system to enlarge and trace a basket onto the paper {you'll need to find a black and white clip art image online or through design software}. You could also freehand the basket if you don’t want to mess with the projector. Decorate the 'inside' of the basket cutout with colorful Easter grass and the handle with a construction paper or ribbon bow. 2) The Eggs. Arrange your students' creations around the board in clusters and inside the basket. Add some Easter grass or grass cutouts made from green construction paper under the eggs.

[As a decoration alternative, cover the door with green background paper to represent grass, adding the "grass" cutouts in a lighter shade of green.]
