Have An Egg-cellent Easter Bulletin Board Idea

Easter Spring Bulletin Board

This colorful board from McKinley Early Childhood Center is perfect for celebrating Easter {and spring!} in the classroom! The colorful eggs provide an opportunity for you kiddos to help out with the design and the clever pun is, well, 'egg-cellent'!

Easter Egg Crafts

Consider having your students complete one or more of the following projects {or just use markers and construction paper eggs like the original board!}:

Egg-cellent Easter Bulletin Board

  • Background: Cover the entire board with blue background paper, layering several strips of green bulletin board paper at the bottom of the board as "grass".
  • Title: "Have An Egg-cellent Easter!"
  • Border: Bunny trimmer, complimentary solid color trimmer, or spring themed bulletin board border.
  • Decoration: 1) The Basket. Freehand or enlarge and trace the shape of a basket onto brown background paper. To embellish the basket handle, cut a long strip of the brown bulletin board paper, twisting and crumbling it to fit the shape of the handle. For the basket weave, cut vertical slits into the front of the cutout, from top to bottom, about 1" apart. From a lighter brown piece of construction or bulletin board paper, cut several long 1" strips and weave these into the basket cutout using the pre-cut slits and alternating the under-over method. 2) The Eggs. Use your students' creations, placing the eggs in and around the layers of "grass" on the bulletin board. 3) The Sky. Create several "fluffy" cloud cutouts from white construction paper and a sun from yellow paper to place in the sky and complete the picture.
