"A Person's A Person..." - Dr. Seuss Themed Character Bulletin Board Idea

March Dr. Seuss Character Bulletin Board Idea for Elementary

We love character bulletin boards and this one is just in time for Dr. Seuss week! Themed after Horton Hears A Who, students are reminded that everyone matters and that good character makes us feel 10 feet tall

Dr. Seuss Themed Character Board

  • Background: Aqua bulletin board paper.
  • Title: "A Person's A Person, No Matter How Small!... Good Character Makes Us Feel 10 Feet Tall!" - Print and cut the letters from orange construction paper/card stock using the free font, Doctor Soos Bold, or simply use regular letters, perhaps in different sizes for some visual interest.
  • Border: Add a complimentary solid color border or Dr. Seuss themed trimmer.
  • Decoration:1) Horton. Find a clip art image of the elephant online and use your classroom projector system to trace and enlarge the figure onto a piece of gray bulletin board paper (or white background paper and use gray craft paint to color it in). When dry, highlight the details and outline the figure with black permanent marker. 2) The Seuss 'Character' Flowers. Freehand or find a starburst template online, using it to trace and cut several "flowers" from hot pink construction paper. Script a different character word onto each...
    • Trustworthiness
    • Self-Discipline
    • Compassion
    • Respect
    • Tolerance
    • Acceptance
    • Honesty
    • Fairness
Finally, arrange the flowers around the board {and add green/yellow striped stems, if desired, to complete the look!}.
