Kristen Whyte shared this fun design that a volunteer room mother created for her classroom last year and we love all of the details; especially the handmade number cloud border! The best part is this bulletin board offers a dual purpose. With all the intricate detailing you might wish to get extra mileage out of the design. If that's the case, you might consider putting the board up after the new year and changing out the title between events.

For example,

  • Soaring Into The New Year!
  • Soaring To New Heights In 2013!
  • Flying High This New Year!
  • The Sky's The Limit in 2013!

100 Days Smarter...

  • Background: Sky blue bulletin board paper.
  • Title: "100 Days Smarter... The Sky's The Limit!"
  • Border: Cloud themed trimmer or do-it-yourself border created with numbered cloud cutouts.
  • Decoration: 1) The Balloons. Find a black and white clip art image of a hot air balloon {like the one pictured below}, printing the image onto colored paper of various colors and cutting out the shapes. [NOTE: To replicate the original board, separate the balloon and basket, using a single hole punch and short pieces of yarn to tie them back together. A perk - because you can control the length of the string, this will also allow you to leave more room for adding photos or clip art!]

Add student photos, downloaded boy/girl clip, or miniature self-portraits created by your students to the 'inside' of the baskets, printing the student's name onto the front of the basket and, when finished, arranging the shapes around the bulletin board. Fill any extra space with cloud shapes cut from white construction paper. 2) The Airplane. Again, find a black and white clip art image online {a simple Google search should net you various options}, printing the shape onto colored paper, and cutting/assembling the pieces as desired. Once again, use a single hole punch and yarn to attach the title banner to the airplane cutout.
